Friday December 5th - Parks Mall Event

December 8th, 2008

Blessings everyone!!! I want to thank each and every one of you who takes time out of your busy schedule to read El Grupo Legacy’s after hour blogs. Let me tell you, this past Friday December 5th was a rather unique event. It was 34 degrees F outside, and for us Dallas folks, it is COLD! The event did not start until 11:30 p.m. and I was getting a little sleepy. The fun part was that we actually played on top on the Ice at the Parks in Arlington Skating ring!! Yes on top of the ICE! Lol… I was already cold when I arrived at the Parks Mall, and performing on top of the ICE made it even worse, I can Imagine C.C., Kelly, and Leslie Lol they were actually wearing skirts!! Hahaha, but after playing a couple of songs it was not that bad for me.  What shocks me the most is when I look back, and I reflect on the situations that EGL has gone through in the past; I laugh, because it is funny to me how God lets certain things happen in order to teach us a lesson, you see God is worthy of all praise no matter where we are, it does not matter whether the temperature is below 50 degrees Fahrenheit or if it is 100 degrees Fahrenheit, God is still worthy of our praise. Let me tell you, we have some STORIES to tell… God has always been faithful, and will continue to use EGL wherever he chooses to. Playing at the Ice at the Parks was an awesome experience. I didn’t get out of there until like 2:00 a.m. because I’m a drummer, and I have to put up my drums! But is all good, Praise the LORD for Christians like me!! Lol j/k    Bueno pues peeps, God bless yall and stay tuned to the “EGL After Hours” for future stories and pics!!!

November 28th at Winterfest 2008!

December 2nd, 2008

Hi everyone!! I’m soooooo excited about doing my very first “After Hours” blog and lucky me…I get to write about El Grupo Legacy’s experience Friday, November 28th at Winterfest 2008!

So, let me just begin by saying that we practiced HARD for this event but it was worth all the effort we put forth! I can admit that I was pretty nervous walking into the ballroom during the pre-service…I have been singing in front of congregations since I was 4 yrs. old but the butterflies never go away!! I don’t mind too much, though, ‘cause it keeps me pumped!!

Anyway, when we were sitting down, we heard people whispering, “Hey, that’s Legacy!” and I turned and didn’t really recognize anyone so I was surprised that they knew who we were (then again…I’m REALLY bad with faces and names!!), but I was even more surprised and shocked at all the noise the crowd made when they announced that El Grupo Legacy would be playing during the service!! I thought that I was dreaming…it’s just so humbling when people enjoy and are blessed by what we do for the Lord because our purpose IS to bless everyone with the gifts that God has placed in our hands. It’s so rewarding to see that all of your hard work and all the passion that you feel for the Lord and what you do for Him is having an effect and is blessing people’s lives. I mean, we hadn’t even gone onstage and my heart was already so full and joyful!! J

I sang my heart out when we were onstage and I know that the other singers did too and that the musicians put their heart into the music they were playing, so I really hope that it came through to you! We sang some of our current songs and we sang 2 songs that will be on our next CD and that was very exciting…I know that we got a GREAT response!

So from the bottom of my heart….THANK YOU to everyone who cheered us on and praised God with us! We had a BLAST!!!!! And it was all thanks to you because we can sing with all of our might but if you guys don’t open your hearts to God and to our music, we have nothing…but you guys were an AMAZING audience and I think that together we made our praise go up to the very throne of God. I’m absolutely sure that he was smiling as he watched us rejoice in Him.

Winterfest 2008 is just around the corner!

November 20th, 2008

Hola Amigos!
I want thank you for checking out our After Hours, the place where El Grupo Legacy can open up and share a little of what happens before and after. These past two weeks we have been working hard getting ready for one of the biggest youth events that happen in the south central Iglesia de Dios, Winterfest 2008. I am EXCITED! We made some changes to some of our old material and will also be giving you guys a sneak peak of what to expect in our new Album, which I may add……sounds AWESOME! I remember the first time I went to winterfest about 3 years ago, I prayed and asked the Lord to give El Grupo Legacy an opportunity to be a part of this great event to be able to share our music and minister to the young people. The Lord opened the door, and last year was our first time being a part of this great event. I want to thank Josue Padilla and the youth office in San Antonio for supporting us and giving us the opportunity to be a part of this event. We pray and hope to be a blessing through our music and the ministry that the Lord has placed in our hearts. To the band: Thank you for all your hard work, and for putting up with me. I luv you Guys!

For those of you that will not be able to make it to winterfest 2008, keep checking out our website, we’ll have pictures and updates letting you know how it was.

God Bless!

Iglesia Ebenezer in Grand Prairie,TX

November 17th, 2008

Hello Online Friends!!!  What an honor it is to communicate with you all via our website.  It really is important to us to keep you posted about what God is doing in our lives and through our ministry.  I want to take the time to thank you for your continued support and prayers.  We love you all and encourage you to keep walking and falling in love with God everyday… You have a purpose!!! Mark your future!!! THE TIME IS NOW!!!

Okay, Okay – down to business!  So I feel obligated to retaliate to Leslie’s online outburst.  Y’all keep her in your prayers, PLEASE!  She is well aware that I’m the head hancho in EGL … But you know what, I still love her and forgive her.  She needs Jesus! Lol… JK! JK!  I love you too Lele and you know it! … but for real – you need JESUS!  Well… we all need him, right?  RIGHT!

Alright already!!! Down to real business! (Hahaha!) This past Sunday we had the privilege of ministering at Iglesia Ebenezer in Grand Prairie, Texas with Pastor Eleazar Peña.  Thank you so much Pastor Peña for opening the doors to your beautiful church.  I must admit, I didn’t know you were the Pastor when I first met you, but hey that can be a good thing!!!  You have such a young Spirit! We were immediately relieved once we heard how great of a sound system they have there!  Believe me when I tell you we’ve had our fair share of REALLY BAD sound system experiences!  Mo (our sound guy, among other things!) had an easy shift this week!  It wasn’t a dream, Mo, I promise it was real!  We praise the Lord he has enabled this church with great equipment!  The presence of God really did move throughout the worship… It always does when people are willing and open their hearts to the Lord!  Of course the WORD God spoke to us through our very own Pochey was awesome!  Good job bro! Hopefully it isn’t the last time you preach… Thanks again to you all for checking out our blog!  Many more to come… We love you and pray the Lord’s blessings over you!

Outreach Event with Iglesia Cristiana Canaan

November 17th, 2008

Hi everyone!! Welcome to After Hours. I just want to share with you guys about the out reach that took place in Iglesia Cristiana Canaan in Garland, TX on Saturday November 15. This was a big activity that was outside of the church they had food (yummy!), games, and live bands. We had a great time listening to other bands play and the different styles of music. I can tell you though it was FREEZING!!!! My lips literally went numb and I thought I wouldn’t be able to sing and I know the musicians were worried about their fingers too!! But you know God is awesome and he is always in control. I know that lives were blessed and that makes it worth it even if it’s super cold or hot outside. God moves in everyway, and in anyway. We are all called to do his work! So it’s time to rise and shine and get out of our comfort zone, God can use you in a powerful and mighty way so that God’s name may be glorified. AMEN!! Also, it was my birthday and I turned 22 baby!! I’m still young thank God unlike you Javi and Pochey!! J/K!!! I Love you guys. Well guys God Bless and ya’ll keep on praying for us. Iglesia Cristiana Canaan thank you for having us. GOD BLESS!!!

Casa de Misericordia Event

November 10th, 2008

Whaaaats uuup?!… Let me be the first to welcome you to our FIRST “After Hours.”  And well they gave me the privilege of being the first because I am the most important member of this band. YES Javi, ME, NOT you! Hahaha I’m kidding!!! I love you Javi J…  November 9th, EGL ministered at “Casa de Misericordia” for their inauguration service out in Ft. Worth, TX.  As soon as one of the church members grabbed the mic and started praying, we knew God’s spirit was going to move in a special way. That, my friends, he did.  He not only let us feel his presence, but he also fed and blessed us through his word. Thank you “Casa de Misericordia” For letting us be part of one of your many forthcoming victories!!!  It’s always a joy to share moments of something that was a vision or a calling come to pass.  God has the perfect time for our dreams and heart’s desires. So if you’ve been waiting for a calling from God or an answer, whatever it may be, BE PATIENT. God is ALWAYS on time.  And he will know when in life to give it to you.  The best part about that is that it’s for our own good.  JER. 29:11… We love you guys and hope to meet you one day and maybe go out for some POLLO CAMPERO!!!J Les mandamos un… little kiss, big hugs, big kiss, little hug…hahahahaha, no J/K!!  Muchos besos y abrazos a todos!
